On May 18th, at 6 of the morning, the Mossos d'escuadra (catalan police forces) invaded our squat La Jungla.
A
squat that in January of this year celebrated 18 years squatting, in
which countless concerts and alternative selfmanaged acts were
celebrated.
The police invaded in big number, strongly armed and with dogs.
They taught neither an order of eviction, nor permission for the action.
They
assembled us everyone in the lounge, did not leave that we were alone
not even a minute and did not allow us to use the phone. They were
taking pictures, and recording videos.
They
caught us all by surprise, since no trial was celebrated, we did not
even have a notice of a possible eviction, not in writing, not verbally.
Some
hours later, they gave us 5 minutes to grab what we could load with our
hands and they were throwing us to the street, one after one.
Already
in the street we could use the phone and contact our friends, who
little by little were coming with lorries and vans to try to extract our
things that were still inside the squat.
The owner sent 2 lawyers and a team of private security to La Jungla, destined to watch 24 hours the area with dogs and batons.
Quickly
the news came to our friends who helped us to move out things and to
give us a place where to spend the night these days.
Quite all of La Jungle Crew we'll have judgment on May 31 for okupacion.
We cannot give any more details, since that might prejudice us.
The eviction of this squat is a sign that the things are changing for worse in Barcelona.
Thank you mates for the support!
